Bibliotheek Wise App: Manage Your Library Affairs Anytime

The Bibliotheek Wise app offers a convenient way for members of public libraries in the Netherlands to handle library matters at their convenience.

For more information about participating libraries, please visit https://www.wise-nl.oclc.org/app/. Alternatively, launch the app and select from the list of participating libraries. Should you have any questions or feedback about the app, please reach out to your library directly.

The Bibliotheek Wise app provides nearly the same functionalities as the catalog and My Menu on your library's website. Some features include:

• Check Loaned Items: Easily view the materials you have at home and their due dates. Direct renewal is possible for your items and those of your family members, with proper authorization for renewals required.
• Authorizations for Renewals: Set authorizations to renew items for your children or authorize others to renew items on your behalf.
• Catalog Search: Utilize all search options available in the regular (web) catalog, allowing searches by title, author, subject, keywords, series, and more. Make reservations and add titles to your wishlist as needed.
• New Arrivals, Reading Recommendations, Ratings: Get assistance with new arrival showcases, personalized reading recommendations, and insights into how others have rated titles through reviews.
• Data Management: Manage your login credentials, email address, and preferences for receiving notifications from the library (email, inbox/push notifications, postal mail).
• Inbox and Push Notifications: Stay informed with updates on reservations to collect or materials to return. Ensure you are logged in and connected to receive these alerts.
• Overviews: Access lists of previously borrowed titles, view your reservations, and manage your Wishlist by adding or removing titles as desired.

Explanation of some permissions requested by the Bibliotheek Wise App:

• GPS Location: Used solely to locate libraries near you. Your location remains private.
• Modify Storage Contents: Required for local caching of fetched data.
• Internet Access: Necessary for retrieving your data from the library.
• Manage NFC: With NFC-enabled devices, scan RFID labels on library materials to access title information and ratings instantly.
